There is probably no better time to start being active in Dubai than now. Not only does this period mark the start of cooler weather, it also coincides with the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the annual initiative that encourages participants to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days.
To help you reach your fitness goals, the month is filled with free events and classes. Here is an overview of those you can book now:
The Dubai Race
When it comes to races with a view, it doesn’t get better than the Dubai Run, which encourages participants to hit Sheikh Zayed Road, with skyscrapers all around, and Burj Khalifa in the distance.
The free event takes place on Friday, November 26, with a five kilometer course for families and a 10 kilometer course for more experienced runners, both starting next to Emirates Towers metro station. The 5 km circle around the Dubai International Financial Center, while the 10 km take the viaduct towards downtown Dubai. All you need to do is register now, pick up your bib between Sunday and Thursday 21 and 25 November and show up in the morning for a unique start to the day.

Yoga at Expo 2020 Dubai Water Feature
The World’s Fair is full of free fitness activities, from running tracks to daily bike rides. One of the coolest new initiatives is a women-only yoga class that takes place every Monday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The workout involves stretching and deep breathing, with just enough to make you sweat lightly, and the calming sounds of the waterfall will make it even better.

Fitness classes with L’Couture
Local fitness brand L’Couture launched weekly fitness sessions every Wednesday as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. On November 17th, get ready to “box” by learning the basics of each punch, with two sessions available in the evening, at 7pm and 8pm.
Meanwhile, on November 24, fitness influencer and founder of Dancy Body Dxb, Gbemi Giwa, will guide beginners through a high-energy, calorie-burning Afro Vibes workout, with workouts at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Reservations can be made on a first come, first served basis.

Palm West Beach
It’s one of the coolest new hangouts in the Palm Jumeirah, and if you’re planning on heading there, the beachfront venue hosts a series of events on Friday and Saturday November 19 and 20. There will be a Storm Cycling session. Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., followed by Barry’s Boot Camp from 9 a.m. to 9.50 a.m. On Saturdays, sign up for a Zumba class from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. or a soothing yoga session with Yoga La Vie from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Arrive early to reserve your spot.

Al Khawaneej Walk
One of Dubai’s most photogenic new locations, Al Khawaneej Walk hosts a number of initiatives on Tuesday, November 16. Between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., the American Hospital Clinic will offer visitors free BMI tests and nutritional advice from specialist doctors at a counter set up for the occasion.
Warehouse Gym will have a personal trainer available between 6pm and 7pm to give visitors a free fitness assessment. This will be followed by a one hour group training session. Finally, children can get active on stage with a 20-minute Zumba session that takes place at 5 p.m., 6:20 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Sunset Walk with The LightHouse Arabia
The UAE Mental Health Clinic is participating in the Dubai Fitness Challenge by inviting the community to a sunset walk on Saturday, November 13. Starting at 5 p.m., the soothing five-kilometer walk will take participants along the Kite Beach jogging track, boosting both mental and physical well-being. “Cycle and mix” with Cherabinth
The new seafood restaurant is supporting the Dubai Fitness Challenge in a fun way: by introducing a cool ‘cycle and mix’ initiative. Guests are welcome to cycle on a stationary bike placed outside, which will simultaneously mix up a healthy milkshake – one that will be served to you for free, once you are done cycling. Exercise at Swissotel Al Ghurair
The hotel has teamed up with green fitness brand SportsArt and Al Ghurair shopping center, to present a platform where anyone can train and track their efforts based on the amount of energy generated. Energy will be tracked using elliptical machines, a treadmill and a bicycle located in the hotel’s central atrium.

This basic strengthening studio opens at Dubai Science Park this month and kicks off with a variety of community classes, including yoga and Pilates. Additionally, to celebrate the Dubai Fitness Challenge, MyCore has partnered with Dubai Media City and Dubai Studio City to bring Pilates and yoga classes closer to more community members.
Free sessions will be held in Dubai Media City daily through Saturday November 13, DCM Courtyard (between buildings 7 and 8) and Dubai Studio City from Sunday through Saturday November 21 to 27 at DSC Cass Area between buildings 1 and 2.
