2023 Hero Xtreme 160R testing begins – What to expect?

Hero MotoCorp has started testing the new Xtreme 160R which was recently filmed in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The test mules were camouflaged to cover his design changes. However, one can notice the minimal panels around the headlight, a bulky fuel tank with a pronounced coating, thick tires, a small LED taillight and a two-piece handrail at the rear. The new 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R features a fully digital rectangular dash and stepped seat.

The updated model of the bike is likely to be powered by the same 163cc single-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine has been tuned to generate 15hp and 14Nm of torque. Similar to the current model, the new one will sit on the diamond tubular frame and come with the telescopic front fork and preload-adjustable rear monoshock suspension. The new Hero Xtreme 160R 2023 will have dual channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).

The official launch date and details of the new Xtreme 160R have yet to be revealed. Reports suggest that the updated version of the bike could make its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023. Its market launch will take place a few months after its official unveiling.

In other updates, Hero recently introduced its first electric scooter – Hero Vida V1 Plus and V1 Pro – priced at Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh respectively. While the former comes with a 3.44 kWh battery offering a range of 143 km and the latter has a 3.9 kWh battery promising a range of 165 km. Both variants are said to climb steep hills with two riders, even when the battery is 60% charged. It supports fast charging.

You can charge your battery from 0 to 80% using a home charger in 5 hours 15 minutes (V1 Plus) and 5 hours 55 minutes (V1 Pro). While the V1 Plus can do 0-40 km/h in 3.4 seconds, the V1 Pro takes 3.2 seconds. Both models are said to offer a top speed of 80 km/h.
