The Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the apex body of India’s automotive components industry, has organized the first-ever ACMA Farm Equipment & Implements Localization Expo on April 6-7, 2022. exhibition aims to showcase the latest developments and excellence in automotive component technologies for agricultural equipment by domestic component manufacturers. The exhibition will be an annual feature of the ACMA, as it provides a platform for all stakeholders for business insights and develops a highly localized and robust supply chain.

Sunjay J. Kapur, ACMA President, said, “The agricultural equipment industry around the world is transforming in light of challenges in energy security, concern for the environment and reducing the carbon footprint. As India declares to achieve carbon neutrality by 2070, the automotive and agricultural sectors, along with all other industry verticals, will need to work in unison to achieve this national goal.

Vinnie Mehta, Managing Director of ACMA, said: “The agricultural sector has shown promising growth despite the pandemic, it recorded a sale of 9.6 lakh units in FY20-21 and another of over 9 lakh units in the first 11 months of FY21-22. Indeed, we are very proud of our tractor industry as it is the world’s No. 1 in terms of units produced as well as a major exporter. Apart from that, although the agricultural implements sector is at a nascent stage in our country, it also holds great potential.

The exhibition saw the participation of over 50 leading component suppliers with their latest products and technologies on display. The exhibition attracted strong interest from major agricultural equipment manufacturers and OEMs such as TAFE, Mahindra & Mahindra, John Deere India, Escorts Group, Swaraj, CHN Industrial and JCB India, among others.
