ALTON — After two years in the making, Alton’s first Pride Festival will take shape on Saturday, September 10 from noon to 10 p.m. on Belle Street at 4th to 7th Street, across from Bubby and Sissy’s, 602 Belle St. The theme is “Bringing the Community Together.”
There will be a youth zone in the Hayner Library parking lot and entertainment throughout the day, beginning with the Porch Cafe from approximately 12:30 p.m. after the opening commentary and national anthem. Other artists scheduled include Miss Goldie and Summer Osbourne. The headlining band is Bullseye Womprats Band, a dance group, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
