Women riders, passengers and friends who support them are invited to gather at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip® to celebrate women in motorcycling during Women’s Day Biker Belles Tuesday August 9, 2022. For the upcoming 14thand annual event organized during the 82n/a Sturgis Rally, Biker Belles brings a long list of leading women who are shaping the motorcycle industry. Captain Gevin Fax and Diva Ambassador Amy Skaling will lead participants on the Guided Morning Walk™ from The Lodge at Deadwood to the Buffalo Chip CrossRoads. Once there, runners will hear guest speakers in the Coffee Clutch hosted by Jacqui Van Ham and see an influential woman receive the prestigious Nancy Davidson Ambassador Award. Throughout Women’s Biker Belles Day, riders will have plenty of opportunities to connect with women who are shaping the industry. Special guests for Biker Belles Women’s Day 2022 include Gevin Fax, Marjorie Kleiman, Laura Klock, Ellie Rains, Savannah Rose, Diva Amy Skaling, Cris Sommer Simmons, Marilyn Stemp, Jacqui Van Ham, Toni Woodruff, Gina Woods, Kelli Yazdi and more to come.
To ensure that all influential women in the motorcycle world are considered, nominations are now being accepted for recipients of the 2022 Nancy Davidson Award. Awarded to Karen Davidson in 2021, this award shows appreciation of a person who guides and directs women in motorcycling and building industry. The Sturgis Buffalo Chip will select the 2022 award winner from the pool of nominations collected and the winner will be announced at Biker Belles Women’s Day. Upon accepting her award, Karen shared with her late mother that she speaks of kindness, community and inclusivity and that we all help lift each other up and move the industry forward. It is in this very spirit that the public is solicited for nominations.
Biker Beautiful Women’s Day Events
The morning walk: Captain Gevin Fax and Diva Ambassador Amy Skaling will lead riders on the guided morning ride from the Lodge in Deadwood through the beautiful Black Hills, landing at the Buffalo Chip CrossRoads.
Coffee pouch: Runners will feed their hunger and thirst for knowledge with informative talks and a catered brunch from Bonifide Food Love and coffee provided by Sturgis Coffee Company. Moderated by Jacqui Van Ham.
Comfort Zone by Team Diva: Women’s Day riders and friends will be able to treat themselves to well-deserved treatments, chair massages, facials, hair treatments and a retail experience including jewelry, apparel and gear. horse riding.
Women’s Bike Show presented by Maiden Moto: Whether it’s a dirt-covered mile muncher that can win the Dirtiest Bike award, a sweet custom, an amazingly clean bike that could win the ShineWerks award, or even a really great story behind the ride, all female owned bikes are welcome. ride on Tuesday to show at the show. Inaugural Motorcycle Art Exhibition: This all-female motorcycle and art touring exhibit, powered by Harley-Davidson, features female artists from the motorcycle community. The show, hosted by Savannah Rose, will feature more than 20 artists from different mediums focusing on women and their motorcycles, as well as bikes built, owned and ridden by women. Free to attend.
All rider contributions go to support the charities of Biker Belles Helping with Horsepower, the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame and All Kids Bike.
Exciting charity events are just part of what the Sturgis Buffalo Chip has again in store for 2022. Guests will have the opportunity to experience exciting events, including performances by world-class artists, rides legendaries, mighty celebrations of freedom, high-level bike shows, thrilling stunts, white-knuckle races and much more. All events are held outdoors in an open environment for the safest experience possible. Entertainment is free with the campsite.
