Car-bicycle rally underway in Jammu city on the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti on Tuesday. -Excelsior/Rakesh

JAMMU, May 3: On the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, Brahmin organizations celebrated the day by staging impressive programs with enthusiasm and religious fervor here today.

Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha held a religious function at the Sabha premises near Prade Ground Jammu, where Yagnopaveet of around 160 young Hindu boys were executed amid Vedic rituals by scholar Pandit Ajay Sharma and other scholars. Besides, prayers were also offered to Bhagwan Parshuram by all to save the country from natural disasters. The ceremony was chaired by Ved Parkash Sharma, Chairman of DBPS.
A car and bicycle rally was also organized by the Sabha, which was reported by Ashok Koul, the organizing general secretary of the BJP. The rally went through Moti Bazar, Pacca Danga, Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, Residency Road, Vivekanand Chowk, Dogra Chowk to Raghunath Bazar and then back to Parade. BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma led the rally.
Chander Mohan Gupta, JMC Mayor; Purnima Sharma, Mayor of Dy; Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu, Arun Gupta, President of Chambers of Commerce, Ex-Minister Sat Sharma, Ex-Minister Priya Sethi, Yudhvir Sethi, Professor RD Sharma, Kiran Wattal, Subash Shastri, Corporal Anil Masoom, Pt VM Magotra, NC Sharma , ML Sharma, PC Sharma Advocate, Somnath Sharma, Ex-DC BS Jamwal, Satyanand Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, ML Padha, Brita Ram, Gurdas Sharma, Satpal Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Soujyana Sharma and others were also present on the occasion. The function ended with the offering of Prshad in the form of Bhandara.
To celebrate the Jayanti, Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha organized a mega Brahmin Sammelan at 20 Miles. Under the chairmanship of Pandit Parshotam Sharma and the chairmanship of Suresh Kumar Sharma, the program started with the Havan Yagya, which was attended by the Yagyopaveet of one hundred students amidst all the rituals.
After Havan Yagya and Pooja Archana, Pandit Suresh Shastri enlightened the assembly on the history and importance of Bhagwan Parshuram. He recited devotional songs and bhajans mesmerizing the gathering with a religious and spiritual atmosphere. Vijay Parashar Maharaj, in his speech, highlighted the responsibilities of Brahmin.
Pandit Parshotam Sharma, President Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha called on the community to follow the path shown by the great gurus and work for the upliftment of every section of society. He spoke of various social evils and urged the Brahmin community to wage war against these evils.
Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha President Suresh Kumar Sharma said the Sabha will continue its work for the welfare of the community and society as a whole.
On occasion, members of the Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha office honored Sant Samaj, Sarpanchs, media personalities, police officers, civil officers and prominent citizens for their contribution to society.
Others who addressed the rally include Vice Presidents Omkar Sharma and Krishan Lal, General Secretaries Bhagwan Dass and Neelkanth Sharma, Media Secretaries Vishal Sharma and Ramesh Sharma, Sarpanch Anjali Sharma, Sarpanch Sham Lal Sharma, Sarpanch Neelam Sharma, DySP Mahesh Sharma, AEE Des Raj Sharma and Prof. Vikas Sharma.
The Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Trust also celebrated Jayanti and recalled the teachings of Bhawan Parshuram, who according to Hindu mythology was the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Kuldeep Sharma, Chairman of Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Trust urged the Brahmin community to embrace the ways of bravery and bravery shown by Bhagwan Parshuram to end all kinds of evils on the earth so that the company can survive in a good atmosphere. . Former MP Ashwani Sharma, RC Sharma, Adv Ashwani Kumar, Govind Ram Sharma, Dr Parveen Nagar, Madan Lal Sharma, Sanjeev Mohan, Kuldeep Sharma (Akhnoor Wale), Roshan Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, Deep Sharma and others have also spoke on occasion.
The Jammu-Kashmir Brahman Sabha held a religious procession this morning, which took off amid the ritual from Hazooribagh and passed through Talab Tillo, Canal Road, Jewel Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Bikram Chowk and University Road.
The Shobha Yatra culminated in Har Ki Pourhi where a great Bhandara was held. Speaking on the occasion, J&K Brahman Sabha President Atul Sharma called on the Brahmin community to remain united for the national cause.
Dogra Pujari Jyotish Shastri Sangh also held a program on the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti at Durga Mandir, Bakshi Nagar Jammu. Havan and Bhandara have been organized on occasion.
DPJS President Rampal Shastri, Vice President Makhan Lal Shastri, Ashok Shastri, Tilak Raj Shastri and others spoke on the occasion and called on the Brahmin community to stay united and work for society and the country.
Parshuram Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervor in the town of Rajouri, attended by a large number of devotees from the surrounding areas. A huge rally of bicycles and cars was organized by members of the Brahmin community on the occasion to mark the celebrations. The gathering started from Dudhadhari Temple and passed through Tariq Bridge, Tehsil Office, Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, City Hall and finally culminated at the old Shiv Mandir bus stand where Pt Ashwani Sharma, member Founder, Brahmin Sabha, Rajouri, Kapil Saryal, Sabha President, Yogesh Sharma and others addressed the assembly.
In another function, a ‘Yagnopaveet Sanskar’ and Mundan ceremony was also held at SVS Gyan Ganga Mathh, Sunderbani on the occasion to mark the celebrations under the leadership of HH Atal Peethadeshwar Rajguru Acharaya Mahamandleshwar Shri Shri 1008 Shri Swami Vishwataman and Saraswatiji Maharaj.
