Colorado Company Responds to Need for Bikes During Tough Inventory Times

LOUISVILLE, Colorado – Supply chain issues have caused huge delays on some popular holiday gift ideas.

Bicycles, for example, are hard to find. Fortunately, there is a place in the Denver metro area where you can find a quality road, mountain, or even e-bike in stock.

You are in good company with The pro’s closet.

Once upon a time there was Nick Martin, a professional mountain biker. But, at the end of each season, he would have some sponsor gear to sell. And that’s when The Pro’s Closet concept was born.

“We have become the biggest bicycle store on eBay,” said Martin, founder of The Pro’s Closet. “And, at one point, we realized we couldn’t control the customer experience.”

The company has grown exponentially. And, the turnkey store is now one of the largest used bicycle destinations in the world.

“So we’ve become a destination to get a trusted, certified, pre-owned premium mountain bike, road bike, triathlon bike,” Martin said.

Their 150,000 square foot facility in Louisville carries over 1,000 bikes at any one time.

“You know, this is a limited edition yeti from Golden here in Colorado,” Martin said as he picked up a bike from the shelf.

“Because the whole supply chain has been blocked, we actually have inventory because we are tapping into the second-hand market,” Martin said. “This would be the bike I would choose from the inventory arriving today.”

If you are selling, the process is simple: they will bid on your used bike.

“We’re basically the price guide for the used market,” Martin said. “We know what the bicycles will sell for, we have all the historical data. Then it goes through our bike washer. And it literally goes through a station that inspects the wheels, inspects the drivetrain, inspects the pivot points, the suspension. “

If you are buying, you can search their website online or they have “driving guides” to help you find the right one.

“We’ll talk about your driving history, your experience, your driving style, where you ride,” said Martin.

So you can spend less time worrying about the details and more time going out.

“The driving experience has changed dramatically,” said Martin. “People can have a great and safe experience on the trails and on the roads today. “

You can pick up a pre-assembled bike from their warehouse. And while you’re there, you can visit their Bike Museum, with hundreds of bikes from different decades, including some from the Tour de France.
