Community bike ride aims to raise money for Boys & Girls Club of Portage County

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – A community bike ride in Stevens Point is looking for cyclists to participate in the annual Pedal Point Rally.

On Saturday, July 16, the Boys & Girls Club and Hostel Shoppe will host the 14th Annual Pedal Point Rally. According to the Boys & Girls Club, 100% of the proceeds will go towards providing daily meals, teaching life skills and helping children with their daily challenges. The Boys & Girls Club serves five communities in Portage County.

The event is designed for riders of all skill levels. In the past, organizers offered four hiking routes, including 60-mile, 20-mile, 13-mile, and a 4-mile family ride. This year, organizers are adding a new 40-mile route.

“We have inflatable food trucks, Portesi pizzas, lots of family activities. It will just be a fun event for everyone to get active and ride through beautiful Portage County,” said Portage County Boys and Girls Club Director of Resource Development and Marketing Mikayla Kleifgen.

Over the past few years, the annual ride has raised over $30,000 to support children in Portage County. The organizers hope to achieve this goal again this year.
