Deputies work to stop bike theft from increasing in Santa Clarita


Deputies from the Crime Impact Team (CIT) conducted crime-fighting operations to quell bike theft in Santa Clarita.

Due to an increase in bike theft, CIT deputies recently conducted a bike operation focused on thieves who steal bikes left unattended in Santa Clarita, said CIT spokeswoman Natalie Arriaga. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“In the meantime, always make sure your bike is secured with a lock attached to a suitable bike rack, don’t leave garage doors open exposing a bike and other vulnerable property to thieves, and always report suspicious activity” , said Arriaga.

Bike theft crackdowns are just one of the many ways MPs are working to protect us in the Santa Clarita Valley.

“CIT deputies will continue to carry out similar operations in the near future,” Arriaga said.
