The e-bike segment in India is expected to see a slew of new models entering in 2022.
Electric mobility in India is mainly driven by low speed electric scooters in India. However, with the growing demand, long-range and high-speed electric motorcycles are also seeing increasing numbers as several brands are introducing their respective products in the segment. This year, interesting electric motorcycles are expected to be launched in the Indian market.

Here are some of the exciting e-bikes coming to India in 2022.
AE-47 Electric Hero
Hero Electric is one of the largest manufacturers of electric two-wheelers in India. After introducing a range of electric scooters in low and high speed segments, the electric vehicle manufacturer is now gearing up to introduce its first AE-47 electric motorcycle in India. The bike was showcased at Auto Expo 2020 and is expected to hit the market later this year. It is powered by a 4,000 W electric motor combined with a 3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. This bike is claimed to offer a top speed of 85 km/h with the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in nine seconds. In addition, it is able to travel 160 km in Eco mode.
Husqvarna, owned by Pierer Mobility, is working on an e-bike that is expected to launch later this year. This model could have similar styling to the Husqvarna Vitpilen, which is currently available in India. The only major difference will be the electric motor and battery instead of the internal combustion engine. This Husqvarna e-Pilen e-bike should have an electric motor with a capacity of around 10 kW. It could be priced around ₹2-3,000,000. Also expect this to deliver high performance.
Electric vehicle startup EeVe is working on electric bikes and scooters. One of the company’s products is the Tesoro bicycle which was showcased at Auto Expo 2020. The EeVe Tesoro is expected to have a top speed of 70 km/h and a range of 100 km. The e-bike can be fully charged in 3-4 hours.
