Loud and proud, subtle and stealthy: the stunning Tour de France Women’s pro bikes have it all

We are more than halfway through the Tour de France Women with Zwift 2022 and yet the General Classification remains wide open. The eight-day tour includes everything from cobblestones and gravel to brutal mountain climbs, including the iconic Grand Ballon and Planche des Belles Filles.

The greatness and honor of the first yellow jersey in 33 years is at stake and as such the competition is fierce and the kit absolutely dialed. Here’s a look at a selection of bikes featured in this year’s race.

Emonda Trek by Elisa Longo-Borghini

This is the bike of Paris-Roubaix Women winner Elisa Longo-Borghini. The team’s GC prospect has a choice of two whips: the new Trek Emonda and the Trek Madone. The Emonda pictured here features SRAM Red eTap AXS with a Quarq power meter and Bontrager components, wheels and saddle. Trek-Segafredo a Pirelli has a sponsor, which supplies the team with P-Zero tires. Kogel ceramic bearings and Stans No Tubes sealant are out of sight.

The first wearer of the yellow jersey of the Tour, Lorena Wiebes, sprinted twice to victory on this Scott Foil with a complete Shimano package: Dura-Ace Di2 12-speed groupset, Dura-Ace wheels and pedals as well as PRO saddles. Team DSM is sponsored by Vittoria, which supplies the tires (particularly with inner tubes on the gravel stage), while Elite supplies the cages and cans.

Movistar Ultimate Canyon

The queen of the mountains, Annemiek van Vleuten, flies through the mountains on a Canyon Ultimate. SRAM (and its affiliates) again supplies the groupset, Quarq power meter and Zipp wheels, wrapped here in Continental tires – tubular or tubeless depending on the day – as well as bottles and cages of Elite and a Fizik saddle.

EF Education – TIBCO-SVB Cannondale SuperSix Evo

The special edition Tour de France Women’s bikes from EF Education-Tibco-SVB are truly amazing. Whether or not you like loud paint schemes, you can’t stop staring at them. The women’s team shares several sponsors with its sister team but remains a separate entity. To that end, you’ll notice some subtle differences in the paint scheme.

The Build: A Cannondale SuperSix Evo fitted with Dura-Ace Di2, 4iiii power meter, Prologo saddle, FSA cockpit, Wahoo Speedplay pedals and Vision Metron wheels wrapped in Vittoria tires.

SRAM Canyon Aeroad

Canyon-SRAM races on the Canyon Aeroad equipped with a SRAM Red eTap AXS groupset and Zipp 303 wheels wrapped in Schwalbe Pro-One tubeless tires.

Remaining in the SRAM family of subsidiaries, the bike features a Quarq power meter and Look pedals. It also sports an Ergon saddle and Tacx bottle cages.

Felt by Antri Christoforou EN

Human Powered Health is in its first year on WorldTour and has taken cycling brand Felt with it.

The team comes with Felt’s AR aero and FR road bikes equipped with a SRAM eTap AXS groupset, FSA cockpit and seatpost, and Vision Metron wheels wrapped in Goodyear tires. Wahoo provides the Speedplay head unit and pedals while the saddles are from Prologo.

French team Cofidis rides the De Rosa Merak equipped with Campagnolo Super Record EPS groupset and SRM power meter, FSA cockpit and Corima wheels wrapped in Michelin tyres.

The new Continental AG Insurance-NXTG team rides the same bike as the Ineos Grenadiers: the Pinarello Dogma F, in a superb light blue colourway.

The Dogma F is built with a 12-speed Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset, FFWD wheels with S-Works Turbo Rapidair tubeless tires, Garmin Rally RS200 electric pedals and S-Works Power saddles.

A second Cannondale team in the peloton, French team Conti Team St. Michel – Auber 93’s SuperSix steeds feature Dura-Ace Di2 9170 groupsets with Stages power meters and BlackBearing ceramic bearings, Mavic wheels wrapped in Michelin tires Power Road, FSA components, Specialty SIN SLR bottle cages and Look pedals.

One of Manx rider Lizzie Holden’s steeds is this Ribble Endurance SL fitted with Shimano Ultegra R8070 groupset, Level 5 integrated carbon bar and stem, Mavic SLR 45 Pro wheels wrapped in tires Continental GP 500 and Speedplay pedals.
