The updated Mahindra XUV300 will be unveiled on this date

Mahindra is expected to unveil the updated XUV300 soon on October 7th. The updated XUV300 was also teased on Mahindra’s social media some time ago. The aforementioned teaser read “0- chill in the blink of an eye.” This indicated that the updated compact SUV would come with a more powerful engine that would allow it to have peak performance. The teaser also showed the XUV300 sporting Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo. Let’s see what else we can expect from the updated XUV300:

What to expect

The biggest change in the updated xuv300 will be its new gasoline engine. The new 1.2-litre TGDI engine is part of the mStallion petrol engine lineup that was showcased at Auto Expo 2020. What’s so exciting about this new 1.2-litre turbocharged engine? liter ? It develops 130 PS of power and 230 Nm of torque, an increase of 20 PS and 30 Nm over the current petrol engine that powers the XUV300. This new engine uses direct injection instead of multipoint fuel injection and was mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mahindra could also pair it with an AMT. The engine was placed inside the Sportz variant which was shown at Auto Expo 2020.

The Sportz variant featured red brake calipers, front and rear door decals with Sportz lettering, an all-black interior with red highlights, and red contrast stitching on the seats. However, the teaser doesn’t show any of the cosmetic changes we saw on the Sportz edition. Apart from the new logo, the overall design of the XUV300 should remain the same with minor changes. Mahindra may introduce new color schemes for the updated XUV300. We also expect it to have sporty bits like blacked out elements for the exterior. The interior could be updated with more features including a larger touchscreen infotainment system and contrasting elements to give it a sporty look. The diesel engine should be kept as is. The 1.5 liter diesel engine develops 115 hp and 300 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an AMT gearbox. The current XUV300 comes with dual-zone climate control, 6 airbags, front parking sensors, 4 disc brakes as standard, front tire position indicator coupled with a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, 17-inch push-button start/stop, rain-sensing wipers, and more. Expect the updated XUV300 to see a price hike given the updates.
