UPDATE: Ride to Remember fundraiser for residents with dementia in the Christian village of Sayre



LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Christian village of Sayre is gearing up for its next “Ride to Remember” charity race on September 25th.

In addition to the fundraising events on the Sayre campus, residents will be able to take their very first motorcycle ride around the parking lot.

The event will contribute to the refurbishment of the health center’s memory care unit with new paint, furnishings and upgrades suitable for people with dementia.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ / Press Release) – The Christian Village of Sayre hosts its first annual ‘Ride to Remember’ fundraising and Car + Bike Show fundraising event in support of Memory Care residents, located at Baunta Apartments on the Christian Village Campus of Sayre on Saturday September 25th. The itinerary for this event is as follows: Registration for this event will begin at 9:30 a.m., crutches will be up at 11 a.m. for the ride.

The ride will include 5 full stops at the Baunta Apartments on the Sayre Christian Village Campus, Kentucky Eagle, ABC36 WTVQ Station, Harley Davidson on Man o ‘War, and return to the Baunta Apartments in Sayre Christian Village.

When cyclists return to campus, they will join volunteers, residents and car and bike show attendees for a fundraising barbecue. Participants can enjoy a smoked brisket meal for $ 7.

Motorcycle / Auto Show judging begins at 11:00 a.m., Benefit BBQ + music from 92.2 New Country Radio Remote at 1:00 p.m. The station will have gifts and prizes to distribute.

The raffles and prizes for the bike / auto show will take place between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. and the entry fee draw will be split 70/30 between Sayre Christian Village and the bike show participants / care and charity run. The entrance fee serves as a raffle ticket fee. The event will help support the Christian Village of Sayre’s mission to better serve and enrich the lives of memory care residents with dementia.

In addition to the raffle opportunity and the Grand Prize Draw, there will be many other raffle baskets valued between $ 50 and $ 200 to bid on.

  • $ 15 1st rider or $ 30 with passenger
