Ballet under the stars
Lexington’s popular summer tradition returns to Woodland Park, August 5-8. The pre-show youth production, “Sleeping Beauty’s Dream,” begins at 8 pm. Elkhorn Creek chariot festival
The third annual Elkhorn Creek Float Festival will be held August 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Peninsula Park in Georgetown. Participants are encouraged to bring their own tubes and sunscreen to the event which also includes music, food, prizes and an opportunity to learn about the local waterways. Shaker village craft fair
The 24th Annual Shaker Village Craft Fair returns to Harrodsburg on August 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and more. Food trucks will also be available with live music, special demonstrations, exhibits, cart rides and freebies throughout the day. Kentucky Reptile Show
From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on August 7 at the newly renovated Central Bank Center, the Kentucky Reptile Expo will showcase captive-bred reptiles and supplies from some of the country’s top breeders. Buy and learn about reptiles, amphibians, spiders, insects and more from the experts they care for. Tacos on two wheels in Gardenside
