BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) – A man has died following a traffic stop in Boynton Beach. Police apparently recklessly attempted to stop a motorcyclist behind the wheel when the driver crashed.
From the police: âIt is with great sadness that we announce the death of a young person who was driving an off-road motorcycle this afternoon.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the off-road motorcycle driver was observed driving recklessly on Boynton Beach Boulevard. Officers attempted a traffic stop and the off-road motorcycle fell in the 800 block of Federal Northern Highway.
“Our hearts go out to the family members of this young person, and they can be confident that we and our law enforcement partners will conduct a series of thorough and meticulous inquiries into the circumstances of what happened. Boynton Beach Police Chief Michael G. Said Gregory said.
The officer concerned will be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigations, in accordance with departmental policy.
We will be able to provide up-to-date information on the off-road motorcycle operator once we have confirmed the appropriate notification from the next of kin.
